About Dawn Miller

Frequently Asked Questions

Why focus on lawyers?
Law school teaches up-and-coming attorneys many things – but one thing they fail to teach is how to look the part. And attorneys face unique wardrobe challenges. From courtroom appearances to boardroom meetings to Casual Fridays to firm engagements, an attorney’s wardrobe must be diverse and flexible enough to meet your ever-changing needs.

Who is your typical client?

We specialize in working with both young lawyers who are developing their professional wardrobes as well as more senior attorneys who want to enhance and maintain their professional image.

Do you go shopping with your clients, or do you perform personal shopping?

Dawn Miller – Style for Lawyers wants to meet our clients’ needs. We shop in-person with many of our clients, helping them identify stores that best meet their tastes, needs, requirements and style. We also shop on behalf of those lawyers who are too busy billing and developing clients, or who just aren’t natural-born shoppers.

Specifically, is there a look or style that you prefer?

Dawn Miller – Style for Lawyers appreciates every client’s own unique style and believes his or her clothing should reflect this. Our goal is to develop a complete wardrobe that incorporates your unique style while meeting the ever-changing needs of your workplace.

Do you work on commission or are you compensated in any manner from the stores you shop from?

Dawn Miller – Style for Lawyers wants you to look your best. And that means choosing those items that work for you – whether they are full price or on the sale rack. Because we work on an hourly rate, we will not pressure you into buying higher-priced items. Our singular focus is helping you look and feel good about the way you look … and we know a happy, well-dressed client is our best advertisement.

Do you shop for bargains?

A savvy shopper who understands his or her wardrobe knows when to take advantage of a good sale. Just because something is a really good deal, doesn’t mean you should buy it. The item should compliment your existing wardrobe, fit you properly, and meet your overall wardrobe objectives.

If you are on a budget or saving money is important, we will work within your parameters to find the right look for the right price.

What’s the difference between your services and personal shoppers within department stores?
There are two major differences. First, Dawn Miller – Style for Lawyers is not affiliated with any particular store. Shopping at a variety of stores means we can best find clothes that will reflect you personal style and budget. Second, we don’t work on commission like department store personal shoppers do. So, this prevents us from pressuring you to select high-priced items for our own personal gain.
